Orange-Red Footed Ceramic Tray with Black Drip Glaze

A rectangular ceramic tray raised on four short feet, with a richly textured glaze in fiery shades of orange, red and ochre.

Dark, almost black glaze trails run down the exterior and inner walls, creating a dramatic contrast with the warm colours beneath. The interior has a softer, mottled red finish, while the rounded corners and substantial rim give the piece a strong sculptural character.

Its unusual combination of colour, surface texture and elevated form makes it an expressive decorative ceramic object, equally effective displayed empty or used as a centrepiece.

Believed to date from the 1960s or 1970s; its precise date and maker remain unverified.
