Returns and refunds

We hope you will be pleased with your purchase. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

Cancelling an online order

If you are buying as a consumer, you may cancel your order without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving it.

To cancel, email hello@interestingobject.com within that 14 day period, quoting your order number. You then have a further 14 days to return the item to us.

If your order has not yet been dispatched, you may also request cancellation through your customer account or by emailing us. Where possible, we will cancel the order before dispatch.

Returning an item because you have changed your mind

For change of mind returns, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the item to us.

Please package the item carefully and appropriately for its nature and value. We recommend using a tracked and adequately insured delivery service.

You may inspect an item as you reasonably would in a shop. We may make a deduction from the refund if the value of the item has been reduced as a result of handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and condition.

We do not charge a restocking fee.

Please contact us before sending an item back. We will provide the appropriate return address and instructions. Do not send returns to our registered office unless we specifically instruct you to do so.

Refunds

When you exercise your right to cancel, we will refund the price you paid for the item together with the cost of our standard delivery service.

If you chose a more expensive delivery option, such as express delivery, we are only required to refund the amount that standard delivery would have cost.

Refunds will be made to the original payment method without undue delay and, where goods are being returned, no later than 14 days after we receive the goods back or you provide evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier.

Damaged, faulty or incorrectly described items

If an item arrives damaged, is faulty, or is materially different from its description, please contact hello@interestingobject.com as soon as possible.

Where possible, please include photographs of the item, its packaging and any damage. Please retain the packaging until we have advised you what to do.

Where goods are faulty, damaged on arrival or not as described, your statutory consumer rights apply. Where a return is required in those circumstances, we will arrange or reimburse reasonable return costs as appropriate.

Vintage, pre owned and unique objects

Interesting Object sells distinctive objects which may include vintage, pre owned, handmade and unique pieces.

Age related wear, patination, variation, historic repairs, manufacturing irregularities and other characteristics may form part of an object's condition and character. Where material, these will be described and photographed as clearly as reasonably possible in the product listing.

Such disclosed characteristics do not affect your statutory rights if an item is materially not as described.

Because many objects are unique or available in a quantity of one, an identical replacement will often not be possible. Where a replacement is unavailable and you are legally entitled to a remedy, an appropriate refund will be provided.

Exceptions

Certain goods may be exempt from the statutory right to cancel, including goods made to a customer's specification or clearly personalised. If we offer any such item, the applicable restriction will be made clear before purchase.
